I’m posting a bit later this week, partly because I wanted to do a special Easter post, and thought it perfect to go out today – Good Friday.
Easter is a wonderful time. The trees are budding, the grass is turning green, flowers are blooming, and on the farm, baby animals are being birthed. Love is in the air, and everywhere around us we see new life. It is a wonderful reminder of the new life Christ gives us – made possible by His death and resurrection.
At this special time, we remember the One who loved us so much, he died for us. Christ endured humiliation, pain, and finally death, all for us. But the story doesn’t end with death. Christ gave us the ultimate hope when he rose again.
Although, not a new year, it is a new season and a perfect time to reevaluate our lives. Just as Christ loved us, we are to love others – all others. (the second greatest commandment, Love your neighbor as you love yourself, Matthew 22:39) And this can sometimes be the hardest thing to do.
This Easter I encourage you to find a way to show love to someone who is not easy for you to love. Remember all the love Christ has given the world, and let Him be your example.
